Range Safety Office (RSO)


A RSO will be mandatory at every firearms range day where there are multiple people on the range!


1. The RSO will generally be one of the standing Board members.
2. Should a Board member not be available, the RSO will be chosen by the group there.
3. A RSO should be the person/member with the most experience at the hunt club.
4. The RSO will be a member with longer than one term, year, in the club.
5. They RSO will be a member in good standing and without any rule violation.
6. The RSO will be responsible to the Board for all situations that happen under their watch.


Duties

1. The RSO will ensure that all in attendance follow the club rules and regulations.

2. The RSO will assess the Firing Range conditions and make determination if additional conditions or rules concerning safety are needed.

3. The RSO will make sure that all shooters on the range follow rules set forth by the BOD and the RSO.

4. The RSO will organize the shooters in such a way that they deem to be the safest for all involved.

5. The RSO will ensure that if unsafe conditions are seen, the shooter(s) will be told to comply or make changes to ensure safety.

6. The RSO will have full power to stop the firing range and exercise disciplinary actions should they be needed.

7. The RSO can suspend the shooter for a time or send the shooter home depending on the violation.

8. The RSO will make sure that all shooters are responsible for themselves and their associate members.
